Description: | Hot rodders and nostalgic auto fans will love this 1950 Jeepster, sporting a 383 Chevy small block with a 350 automatic transmission. Professionally built by Paul Sorace in Baltimore, MD. Plenty of power to jump off the line and to reach excellent cruising speeds. The rear end is from what was a brand new front-wrecked Ford Explorer and fits under the body as though it was designed by Willys. The front end is Mustang II independent suspension and there are discs brakes all the way around. All new brake lines. Chrome Moon wheels. All new wiring (coded). Gas tank refurbished inside. Original bumpers, front grill chrome, side chrome and other standard body chrome. The original Jeepster ("VJ" internally) was produced from 1949 through 1950, although some leftover models were sold under the 1951 model year. It was designed to become an open-air family convertible, seating 4 and was a stretched 2-wheel drive departure from the Jeep (or GP…General Purpose) vehicle that played such a vital role in the Allied victory in WWII. It was America’s first “crossover” from their "utilitarian" type truck vehicles, to the passenger automobile market. Only 5,836 built. This vehicle has been garage-kept since 1999 when I purchased it in Baltimore. I have plenty of new after-market parts, including: • Chrome emblems, headlight rings and door handles. • Custom top ready for installation, with new windows. • Custom Black Carpet. • Tail lights. • More. Ask.
